Notably, the gender flipping aspect, where Henson takes a male’s role due to her managerial position, makes the theme of race, gender, and sexism impact the audience (Shankman, 2019). An element that could have some changes for the better in the film is including another character, probably a white female, to help showcase the different worlds of success and challenges experienced by the women of color and whites. So far, I think this film helps the audience understand that women, just like men, can soar in their workplaces and succeed. However, if a woman directed this film, elements like favoritisms would have prevented the audience from seeing the deeper meaning of the film’s message. In such a case, issues of feminism would rise, changing the trajectory of the storyline in general.
