Answer previewThis case is about Edward Theodore (Ed) Gein, who is popularly termed as the American psycho. Ed Gein was raised together with his brother, Henry George by their mother, Augusta. Ed was prohibited from socializing with anyone since his mother feared they would turn out to be like their father. His brother later died of asphyxiation as claimed by Ed Gein although he had bruises on his head. One year later, his mother died of a stroke which devastated Edward Gein. It led to his exhumation of at least ten women graves, including his mothers’ (Hickey, 2016). He later progressed to killing female owners of stores and dissecting their bodies. He was convicted but found to be legally insane hence sent to a psychiatric hospital and died in 1984.
