Answer preview

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent establishment by the Federal government that is mandated to maintain and enforce environmental standards through various laws and regulations (Portney, 2016). The environment is a critical factor in the health care system, and therefore EPA does the environmental assessments, and research and comes up with regulations that are implemented in consultation with state and local governments. EPA’s data from assessments and research enables the federal government agencies to make informed decisions in formulating policies for specific geographical regions concerning health problems.
