Gun violence is not an issue of yesterday or today it’s something that has been witnessed over time. A decade ago, 32 people were massacred in Virginia Tech. In the year 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut 20 children and six adults were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School. As from January 2014, to December 2017, there has being a least one instance of gun violence in a school in America every month except for only six months (Campion, Edward W., et al. 1681).This together with other breathtaking statistics compiled by The Gun Violence Archive explains the risk that Americans particularly students are subjected to with circulation of guns in the streets. According to their research conducted between 2014 and 2017, more than 50,000 Americans were killed by the gun. This number includes an approximate number of 2700 children under the age of 12. In less than three years, the United States has experienced 1,333 mass shooting, a massive 10% increase from the previous three years (Garbarino et al., 196).
