Amazon is also found worthy in CSR due to its efforts to reduce poverty and its effects on communities. The company feeds thousands of students in a hundred schools each year. According to Shetty and Moorthy (2020), these schools depend on the partnership between Amazon and Share Our Strength to feed breakfast to their students who cannot afford three basic meals at home. Furthermore, the company has also met the needs of the homeless in different states. An example is a continuous partnership with Mary’s Place Family Shelter by donating over 45,000 acres of land to build shelters. They have also directly built homes for the homeless.
