Answer preview

The original intention of the Act was to provide income for retired employees. It aimed to reduce the dependency of older adults due to unemployment. It provides monetary support to employees, and benefits are provided to people who work or are married to someone who worked the required years (Ball, 2017). The Act benefits retired individuals, disabled persons, and the family of the retired, disabled, or deceased worker. It does not provide and cover all the economic needs of the individuals but ensures financial support for the elderly.
