What ethical issues do IT professionals face on a daily basis, in the US. The company i work at has clients and users in multiple countries across the world, from India ,China, and across Europe. and one of the major issues we have to deal with are cyber-security laws and ethics in these other countries. How could some countries laws or ethics conflict to those within the USA? Do you find any other countries laws or practices are more effective than our own?

In my opinion, there are some laws in other countries which are more effective than US laws. In Europe, privacy rights are esteemed which is the opposite of what happens in the US as most Americans feel that their privacy is slowly slipping from their rip. For example, personal information cannot be collected from users unless they consent and the user reserves the right to correct any inaccuracies. Additionally, employers cannot read an employee’s personal or work email without permission from the employee. The European Union directive on Data Protection in 1995 requires every European country to pass a National Privacy law that protects citizens. As a result, in some European countries, personal information cannot be shared across borders without the consent of the subject. In the grassroots levels, even checking clerks cannot ask clients for their contacts. In conclusion, privacy and ethical issues differ in various countries; these differences determine how secure information and the ethical dilemmas IT professionals will face in each state.
