Compensation motivates behavior in any work environment since it creates challenges for all workers. Staff members whose attitude towards work is poor can change due to rewards structures. Also, once an employee sees their colleagues recognized due to better performances, it motivates them to improve their behaviors at work. Some workers are inspired by compensation strategies such as promotions since it allows professional growth and advancement in an organization. However, it may also motivate employees negatively, whereby some begin to harm others due to increased competition (Antoni, Baeten, Perkins, Shaw and Vartiainen, 2017). It can compel bad attitudes in the workplace, whereby some individuals are willing to do anything at the cost of others to receive compensation.
