Answer preview

Since car emission can increase the rate of global warming and jeopardize the health of human beings, it is high time that people should think of a long-term solution to the issue. People cannot stop using cars because they must drive to and from workplaces. But, it is possible to reduce the amounts of harmful gases emitted to the environment by becoming more responsible and upholding technology. The first solution to the issue of car emissions is the development and enforcement of the public policy. National and state governments can develop regulations on the type of cars to sell in terms of emissions. For example, the government of California declared that “particulate matter emission limits for passenger cars should not exceed 4 mg/km,” which has helped to lower the rate of air pollution in the state (Kuklinska, Wolska, and Namiesnik, 2015). Setting emission policies will restrict manufacturing industries from making car engines that are friendly to the environment. Also, government regulations can control the type of cars that people should import by testing and prohibiting cars that have high emission levels.
