Answer preview

massive disparity between wages, it is evident how far we are from attaining a global labor market. Nevertheless, through the spread of technology, globalization has immensely aided in the integration of labor markets and minimized the wage gap between workers in already developed and developing economies. There are both positive and negative effects of globalization on the labor market (Lialina 2019). Positive effects arise from developing countries’ capacity to create new jobs and production opportunities mainly from alleviating price distortions concerning labor and capital. Adverse effects, on the other side, arise from the large-scale technological developments that follow the phenomenon, thus reducing the demand for unskilled labor. Instead of erecting protectionist policies to stanch globalization forces, it would be best to shift the focus towards establishing possible ways of helping workers adjust to the rapidly changing world.
