In this era of big data, which focuses on complex and large data, organizations have to understand the three categories of these data: structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Structured data is information archived in relational databases, and the specialists can easily map it into pre-designed fields (Elmasri & Navathe, 2016). This type of data uses the structured query language (SQL) as the programming language. Semi-structured data does not conform to the rigid structures as seen in relational databases. However, the data collected may have a particular structure but not identical. Further, unstructured data, such as videos, binary data, and audios, do not follow a pre-organized format, structure, or a pre-defined model, but it contains numbers, facts, and dates.
