Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research about cultural diversity. Based on your research and understanding, answer the following questions:
- How does having members of different cultures on a team affect the team’s performance?
- How would you incorporate a person from a culture of your choice into your team, keeping in mind communication differences within your and the chosen culture?

Some specific strategies may be required while incorporating a person from a culture of my choice into my team. Strategies to enhance quick adaptation, while creating an environment that can motivate the person to feel comfortable in making contributions to the team. Effective communication is a major contributing factor in a team’s performance. Having a team member with a different communication background can be a challenge (Kim, & McLean, 2014). However, there are ways I can handle the challenge to help ease the incorporation process. Firstly, if the cultures have a totally different language, I may consider enrolling the person for some language classes to learn the basics of my communication language. Secondly, I can ensure that the team members are aware of the communication challenge with the new team member and hence the need to embrace the person in the event the person cannot communicate effectively with team members.
