CDS significantly improves health care’s quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. That is because it helps minimize misdiagnosis and medication errors as the computer helps extract the correct prescription (Pawloski, Brooks, Nielsen, & Olson-Bullis, 2019). They also provide the entire care team with consistent, reliable information that they can use to prevent diseases and help improve the health outcomes of patients. Other advantages of CDSS are that it improves efficiency and patient throughput and helps healthcare practitioners access all information in one place.
