Final Project: Creating the Literature Review Section
This week, you will finalize the Literature Review section of your proposal. While developing Part 5, use the following guidelines:
- Review the topic using articles pulled in prior weeks. Start with a broad overview of the topic, and narrow it down to the purpose of your research and your specific research question.
- State your hypothesis(es) (your prediction of what your research will reveal based on the literature review)

Ferrari et al. (2016) explain that domestic violence increases incidences of mental illness in the community. Women who have experienced repeated incidences of domestic violence experience significant psychological distress since most of the cases are unreported. Domestic violence survivors suffer a variety of mental health-related disorders like PTSD, depression, substance abuse, and anxiety. The psychological impact on women is critical and long-term since most often, they do not seek help. The disturbance in the emotional state of the victim is often associated with increased aggression behavior (Ferrari et al., 2016). The psychological disturbances also result in increased threats of drug and substance abuse.
