The First Amendment protects our freedom of worship, assembly, expression and the right to appeal. However, it is considered not to be absolute because U.S. Supreme Court passed a rule that allows the government to limit speech. The four models used to regulate the freedom of expression and speech in media have different effects on the press (Oluwasola, 2020). For instance, the authoritarian theory outlines that the government has control over the communication systems either directly or indirectly. A good example is the Taliban management which controls media in Afghanistan after it took over the country (Guidry et al, 2021).
