One of the major traits of a good leader is flexibility and adaptability traits. To be a successful leader, one must implement certain attributes. First, a leader must have constant loop learning. For a leader to overcome challenges, one must be a good learner to help people around them (Gandolfi & Stone, 2018). The learning process helps them reflect on what is working and what is not to help set a platform of flexibility that can help people adjust in the future. Based on the case study, one of the leaders who demonstrated adaptability is Louis David, the engineer officer on the USS Will Rodger. He was able to adopt the path-goal leadership after being inaugurated. First, he was assigned to give orders to the crew, which followed the traditional leader-follower model. He later received an assignment to lead the crew in a highly successful deployment where he had to adapt between the two leadership
