Aristotle’s Virtue and Ethics claim that happiness is the ultimate end goal covering human life’s totality. He says that children cannot be happy because their full potential in life has not been realized. He argues that happiness cannot just be acquired or lost in a short time, like pleasurable excitements. It is more of a measure of one’s value of a life lived up to this point, evaluating if one has lived up his life to his full potential. Therefore, we cannot conclude and claim that one has lived a happy life until it is over; just like in a football game, we cannot conclude that a particular team has won the match at halftime since the other team has time to recover (Gloor et al., 610).
