Even though most people consider artificial intelligence a more recent technological advancement, it has been in existence for quite some time. The term artificial intelligence first came into existence in 1950, courtesy of Alan Turing (Euchner, 2019). He came up with the concept that laid down the foundation for the development of artificial intelligence. Turing began speculating that human beings would, at one point in time, come up with intelligent and thinking machines that would have the ability to mimic human interactions. As such, he developed the Turing Test, which could get used to assess the thinking capacity of computers. According to this test, the best way to establish if a computer was a thinking machine would be to command it to complete reasoning puzzles. If it does, then it meets the criteria for becoming a thinking machine.
