The way the Bluebeard story is organized, we can recognize it as a fairy tale because of the polarity of the characters- good and evil. Although it is portrayed as a horror story, .the story is not a real one since it involves some magic. The bleeding key brings some aspect of magic in the story. This makes the tale unreal and qualifies it as a fairy tale. The setting of the story tells more about the narration. The phrase “there once lived a man who..” shows that time and location are not known. The place and the time can only be thought to imaginary. This aspect of the story establishes a perfect atmosphere. Such an atmosphere fascinates the imagination of the reader.
