Locate a current business-related news item that discussed issues relating to ethics in the workplace, as described in the popular press (e.g., Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, US News and World Reports, CNN, Google News, BBC, etc.), about the practices or policies of a particular organization. Based on the concepts covered during the sessions on ethics (i.e., Module 2), answer the following questions. Be thorough yet succinct with your answers.

Your analysis should address the following four questions:

  • What ethical issues are presented in the news article?
  • Why are these ethical issues important?
  • Who are the stakeholders involved in this case?
    • Identify all stakeholder groups affected in this case (i.e., stakeholders affected both positively and negatively)
    • What effect do the ethical issues have on each of the different stakeholder groups?
  • If you were CEO of the organization, what would you do?
    • Recommendations should be useful and actionable, not just wishful thinking.

Use the template available in Canvas under the “Files” tab (“MGBU 324 – Template – Ethics Paper) for this assignment. Do not use contractions or slang. Assignment should be: typed; double-spaced; use Times New Roman 12 point font; have 1 inch margins; and include your full name, date, and course. All in-text citations and references should be formatted using the American Psychological Association (APA) manual style guide. The paper should be no more than 3-4 pages (title page and references do not count). Papers that exceed this length may be penalized for each half-page over the limit.
