Even though group therapy has its shortcomings, its benefits outweigh them by far. In line with this, I would be inclined to become a group therapist. Once this happens, I can address some downsides of group therapy. For instance, to prevent confidentiality breaches, I will not only regurgitate the importance of refraining from sharing confidential information shared within the group with outsiders but also come up with sanctions for those who breach such confidentiality. Even though group therapy can be used in isolation, it is often integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that includes individual therapy. As such, I can also combine group therapy with individual therapy to enhance its effectiveness.
