Answer preview

The employer/employee relationship is highly influenced by the varied skills and qualifications of both parties. Some managers avoid interacting with subordinates since they do not belong to their social class. Also, junior workers may hesitate to associate with their managers due to distinct levels in society. They fear they lack any prestige and authority to approach their bosses to discuss specific issues. The organization’s hierarchy serves to pass information from lower staff to senior members in a systematic manner. The interactionism perspective identifies the social stratification system within companies that groups people together. It may hinder effective relations between managers and the staff due to society’s different social standing. Individuals in the lower level of the organizational structure rarely interact with those at the top level.
