Mass media is one of the agents that contribute to the socialization process. It is considered an agent of socialization because it shows actions, words, and images that shape the behavioral patterns of its viewers and listeners. Media has audio and visual shows which depict social patterns in different societies, viewers and listeners may knowingly or unconsciously adopt the behaviors they are exposed to (Prot et al, 2015). The family is another agent of socialization which transfers values and beliefs to its members from a young age.
