Many psychologists have studied different aspects of human development that contribute to the existing body of knowledge. As a result of these studies, several theories have developed that explain the typical and expected social developmental milestones. The developmental theories also explain the different factors that positively or negatively affect human development in different groups of people. This paper analyzes the movie “Matilda,” which was released in the year 1996. The film is about a young girl called Matilda who exhibits strong cognitive abilities in her young age although living in an unfriendly environment.
