The success of the healthcare system heavily depends on the wellness of the economy. The changes in the economy have both positive and negatives on the country’s healthcare system. In the US, states have taken the initiative to improve health access to all patients regardless of income levels. Most of the country’s states are making health system reform and policy innovation that encourage more efficient and effective health services and improve Americans’ health. The studies show that the US is the country with the most expensive health system. Yet, it is not the healthiest country than other countries like France, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, and the UK and other OECD countries. Compared to all the countries mentioned above, American ranks last or near last when health indicators like life expectancy, infant mortality, access, and healthcare efficiency are evaluated.
