Projects generally follow a laid-out procedure to facilitate their completion. Following this procedure is very important, considering it ensures that the project’s objectives are met, and the project gets completed on time (Forsberg et al., 2005). Even though there are different approaches to completing a project, most approaches involve a four or five-phase process. One such approach is the PMI model. This approach was initiated by the project management institute (PMI), and it is a five-step process (Forsberg et al., 2005). These phases include conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close. In line with this, the paper will analyze the PMI model, specifically comparing and contrasting its phases with those used in two different approaches.
