Currently, apart from socializing, other significant reasons for adults to use social media applications get up-to-date with information on the latest trends, brands, and general information about specific industries of concern as per individuals. Adults do not need much anonymity on the trends they follow or their chats, unlike teens who are out to share anything they come across hiding behind the anonymity blanket. Thus, kids and teens prefer those applications that can give them access to videos, live chats and some extent hind their identity. Snapchat, for instance, gives teens a sense of security since whatever they share auto-deletes such that they cannot be traced. Additionally, they will go to YouTube to have fun watching and uploading fun videos. Adults, on the other hand, will go for professional applications like LinkedIn, where they can learn the latest trends in industries, and Facebook, of course, to reconnect with friends and family as well as advertise businesses.
