Synthesize Elements of Forming a Community Health Partnership

Synthesize Elements of Forming a Community Health Partnership

This assignment requires your synthesis and reflection of the elements needed to form your proposal for a community health partnership. Such partnerships are mandated by the ACA for nonprofit hospitals and offer benefits to both partners.

Your proposal will contain an overview of the benefits; and, using your weekly resources and assignments, you will identify the steps needed to form a partnership of this type.

These steps include:

  • Critiquing the community health needs assessment.
  • Initiating strategic planning through a SWOT analysis and creating strategic action plans.
  • Analyzing the role and impact of healthcare regulatory agencies.
  • Understanding the legal aspects of forming partnerships.
  • Evaluating hospital performance as a community consumer.
  • Creating a budget for the partnership project.

You will summarize the predicted ROI for this nonprofit hospital/community health partnership from a holistic perspective in narrative form rather than a financial accounting perspective.

Lastly, you will incorporate your summary of how the 13 health leadership competencies are applied in each step and weigh the value of the abilities in each for health administrators. (collaboration, information seeking, analytical thinking, strategic orientation, accountability, performance measurement, project management, community orientation, professionalism, financial skills, innovative thinking, team leadership, and process management/organizational design)

Answer preview

Health care providers have for a long time focused on helping patients who come to hospitals and other health care facilities seeking medical assistance. However, over the last few years, many of them are moving from reacting to illnesses towards intervening in people’s and communities’ lives to prevent them from getting sick in the first place (Morrissey, 2018). This move towards preventative care will only be effective if health care providers partner with communities. This is because such partnerships will give them a better comprehension of the various factors within communities that contribute to adverse health outcomes, and thus, give health care providers a better chance of dealing with them (Morrissey, 2018). The ACA requires non-profit health care providers to form partnerships with communities they operate in. As such, this paper will synthesize the elements I will include in my proposal for a community health
