Design a Comprehensive Presentation Outline
The Importance Of Sleep To Human Health And Wellbeing.
Your assignment this week has two parts. Be sure to read each part carefully prior to completion.
Part 1: Design a Comprehensive Presentation Outline
Create a comprehensive outline that you will use to develop your final presentation. Provide enough detail that a reader may discern the overall ideas your presentation will address. Answer the following questions to complete this assignment:
- General theme and subthemes: What knowledge and skill areas will be the focus of the training or webinar?
- Goals and objectives: What do you want participants to learn during the training or webinar? What will they leave knowing more about or what new skills will they have acquired?
- Essential questions: What central questions should participants answer as the training or webinar unfolds?
- Summary of participant activities (this is more typical/applicable to training): How will participants accomplish training objectives and answer the questions in numbers 2 and 3 above? (e.g., small group discussions and projects, lectures, role-playing)
- Resources: What resources might you use to help participants accomplish the training or webinar objectives? (e.g., current research, discussions, encouragement)
- Assessment activities: How will others determine if participants a) have reached curriculum objectives identified in number 2 above; and b) can answer the questions in number 3?
Length: 2-3 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources, in addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Part 2: Employ Presentation Material Development
The presentation objectives are now finalized for each content area, and instructional strategies are developed for each performance objective. As a result, participant materials and certain aids are developed to guide participants to successfully meet the expected outcomes.
Present the information in a way that makes it easiest to understand (for training: identify different types of training content which may call for different training strategies; include facts, concepts, processes, and if applicable include procedures, principal models, and any problem-solving recommendations).
Like research papers, you should address the general topic and insights related to the topic, and then narrow it to the specific purpose of the presentation. Be sure to address:
- What is the problem? (how, why, to whom, severity, culture and diversity worldviews of the problem)
- What are the supportive statistics?
- What and where are the needs/gaps?
- What’s being done presently, what should/could be done?
- What are the systems involved?
- How does the problem affect others, how do others/systems affect the problem?
- What EBPs may be involved?
- Are there any controversies surrounding this issue/problem?
- What are the implications?
- What are the researchers’ findings?
- What are your suggestions (trainings, change programs, strategies, etc.)?
Consider these points as you present the content of your presentation:
- What information or content do you want participants to learn from the training or webinar?
- What specific, detailed knowledge, information, or skills do you expect participants to learn from the training or webinar?
- What do you want them to do with that information?
- What skills or competencies do you want them to gain, develop, expand, or improve?
- What materials need to be developed, and what will the materials include?
- What methods will be used so that participants meet the learning objectives and learn the content most effectively?
- What cross-cutting issues need to be included and which ones need to be prioritized (gender, environment, etc.)?
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Length: 5-7 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 100-200 words for each slide
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing
