As I alluded to in the prior section of the paper, I belong to several subordinate categories in American society. Specifically, being a low-income Iranian female has constantly exposed me to intersectional discrimination due to my socioeconomic status, gender, and nationality. Furthermore, I often present myself as a woman to avoid being discriminated against due to my membership to the other subordinate categories; low-income and Iranian. By doing this, I restrict the discrimination and oppression I experience in my membership to one subordinate category.
