It is the nature of human beings to keep secrets. Keeping secrets is a part of every human being. Secrets are not kept only by adults but also children. Children in their earliest years also know to conceal things from their senior. We are pretty aware of what comprises a secret. In simple terms, we can talk of a secret as being a piece of information that a person has of which they do not want to reveal or share with others. The information concealed may be personal or work involving several people. Not all secrets are negatives, some of them are positive. However, the majority of people tend to hide from others information that is of negative. Concealing secrets in times if a conflict is more prevalent in most societies. Susan Griffin, in her narration “Our Secret,” delves into the subconscious, putting the focus on the dark secrets that lie in the rift of the human heart. In the words of Griffin, each has darkest secrets that are no different from each other in the sense that they are perverted and prejudiced thoughts (Griffin, 319). The secrets which can be referred to as concealed evils are fixed firmly and deeply in people’s heart that they forget the existence of these evil thoughts.
