As a Christian in the healthcare care field, faith has played a significant role in coping with grief together with patients. Looking back, I remember undergoing all the five stages in the grief process. Denial is the first phase, which entails a defense mechanism in which one becomes numb to the emotions due to the immediate shock of loss. I lost a patient who was suffering from cancer, and after their death, I was in denial. There are cases where I would imagine the patient
