Answer preview

Anticoagulation therapy is an intervention recommended for patients with AF. Typically, these are drugs that stabilize the rhythms and prevent blood clots. Different options for anticoagulation therapy include the use of aspirin, Plavix, rivaroxaban, beta-blockers, calcium channel-blockers, vitamin K absorption such as warfarin (O’Connor & Wright, 2017). Warfarin, compared to aspirin, has low chances of causing dementia, a mental health condition highly contributed through the administered aspirin. However, patients have to religiously flow their care plan of warfarin to improve their wellbeing (Millar & Laffan, 2017). However, Plavix and aspirin, despite being drug options, increase the patients’ risk of bleeding. Due to the risk factors, doctors highly recommend beta-blockers and calcium channel-blockers to manage the heart rhythm.
