Failure is often unavoidable. Furthermore, what really matters is what a person does after failing. This has always been my life’s motto, helping me focus on the lessons learned from failure rather than wallowing in self-pity for failing. I have overcome numerous failures, each teaching me a valuable lesson that I integrated into my personal life, and I hope to do the same for my professional life. One of the failures that come to mind was the lack of a willing dental practice that would have allowed me to obtain relevant shadowing experience in the United States for the first 6 months of my relocation to the country. Even though I drafted and sent numerous applications, I never received any acceptance or feedback. This prompted me to perceive myself as a failure, considering that what was happening was slowing down my education and career progression, at least as I had imagined. However, my perseverance and commitment to achieving my dream of becoming a dentist pushed me to continue applying
