Answer preview

The integrated dual disorder treatment (IDDT) model is an evidence-based exercise for battling drug addiction and mental illness. Most people who struggle with drug addiction and mental illness never get the help they want as most are either treated for drug addiction only or mental health and not both. Catherine is in the consensus-building stage of IDDT as the judge has offered medical help for both mental illness and drug addiction. However, she seems not to understand how she can be diagnosed with mental illness as many people who abuse drugs never think they have any other problem. This correlates with her stage of change as she has accepted help for change.
