Software bugs arise from errors and mistake done on the programs source code or its design or in the software components and operating systems used by the software (Elmishali, Stern, & Kalech, 2018). A few software bugs are caused by compilers which produce an incorrect code. Many bugs in a program can interfere with its functionality. They can cause errors which may present ripple effects. Most bugs present subtle effects or even cause a program to freeze or crash the computers. Other software bugs might allow malicious attackers to bypass access control, enabling them to obtain privileges.
