Fewer than one-third of respondents to a survey say their company is prepared for the future. Even among the top companies, only 27% say they have employees prepared for openings in the executive ranks, and only 18% are ready to fill management positions at lower levels. About one-third (34%) say their organization develops leaders effectively. What competitive advantages could a skilled HR manager deliver at an organization committed to improving its talent management?

Assignment 2: New Supervisor Training on Performance Evaluations

Now that the position has been created, you’ve taken the opportunity to create a PowerPoint presentation to train new supervisors on how to conduct performance evaluations.

Whether you use an annual evaluation, real-time feedback, or quarterly evaluations, it is important that new supervisors understand:

You will want to read review Ch. 10 material again) from Week 5 readings) and pay particular attention to p.p. 290-291 and Figure 1.1 within those pages for a model on performance management – you can use this model as the basis for your slides. You will want to also include material on the purpose of performance management / evaluations p.p. 291-292, criteria for effective performance management p.p. 292-293, and discuss methods for performance management pp. 294-295. Finally, from Ch. 9, pay special attention to Ch. 9 and specifically the section on HRM’s Contribution to High Performance, starting on page 272 of our book. Also, pay attention to figure 9.3 Employee Performance as a Process material on page 274.

Finally, PLEASE add your references in APA format on an additional and final ‘Reference’ slide. If you do all of this, you should have no problem creating ten slides with speakers notes.
