Answer preview
In healthcare, the population that receives healthcare services is diverse, and hence every individual or community has various unique needs tied to their care. Therefore, healthcare providers must be aware of inequalities that face different cultural groups and how it contributes to disparities in the care provided. Recognizing racism in healthcare will ensure that the preformed prejudices and biases are identified. More knowledge on race is accessed to help deconstruct the formed perceptions of a given group (Johnson and Rossow, 2019). Recognizing racism will ensure the patient receives adequate care that meets their well-being and ensures that the individual’s background is considered when providing care.
