Write a paper in which you research and analyze President Lyndon
I have a essay due wednesday by 11:59 pm.
Write a paper in which you research and analyze President Lyndon B Johnson’s key initiatives for his “war on poverty” in the 1960’s.While often remembered for his failure to end the Vietnam War and his crude personality, president Johnson felt deeply about ending poverty. You should research what initiatives were put into place (remember that Congress and the Senate also played a role in passing them), what their goals were, and then how successful they have been, or if they have not been successful. When you are analyzing some of these laws and programs (choose a few, not all) look at what made them succeed or fail. Was there enough funding? Were they implemented in the same way in each state? Were the programs funded and ran by the federal or state governments, or a combination of both? Are these programs still workable today, or do they need to be modified?
Other Information:
1) Must use MLA research paper format
2) Must use 4 scholarly sources plus one article from the textbook.
3) Must use quotes and cite within the paper. Don’t forget to make connections between the quotes and paper ideas.
4) Paper II is 5-6 pages in length, not counting the Title page and Works Cited page
5) The Works Cited entries must contain a link to the articles that is functional. Do not use Ebsco Host since their links often do not work.
Your Name:
1) Write your thesis sentence:
2) What are your three reasons for your main point about your topic?
3) Give an example from your paper of evidence for each of your sub points:
Overview: For this task, you will write a reflection on a current issue in strategic human resources. To find your topic, use the University of Pennsylvania’s Knowledge@Wharton website. Type “human resources” into the site’s search feature to find articles about issues that can be directly impacted by a human resources strategy (e.g., workforce training, company culture, etc.).
Prompt: Once you have read the article of your choice, write a reflective analysis in relation to an organization you work for or used to work for. Refer to the article How to Broaden Your Critical Thinking Skills and use critical thinking in your response to the following three questions:
What area of human resource strategy is discussed in the article you chose, and how did the strategy address a human resource issue? Provide supporting details
How would you compare the human resource strategy in the article to the human resource strategy in your organization? Provide supporting details.
If you were the human resource leader, what would you have done the same, and what would you have done differently? Explain your answers with asupporting rationale based on the course and curriculum content you’ve learned this far.
Complete the PHA Questionnaire 2020 (below). Write down your score for each dimension of health and read about how you scored in each section. Be completely truthful when answering! When you are done, write a 4-5 page paper that reports your results. This paper will be in 7th edition APA style with a title page, page numbers, introduction, and conclusion. Use the sections of the quiz as subheadings (Physical Health, Spiritual Health, etc) and explain why you scored the way you did for each section. Include your lifestyle habits, parental/peer influence, upbringing, environment, culture etc to explain your results. Put some thought into this – reflect, and don’t just write: “I don’t eat breakfast because I never have” – think about the reasons behind your behaviours and explain them. Also include ways that you could possibly improve your score if it was low. You may write in first person. You do not need to include the score sheet when you upload your paper but your score must be listed in each section. You do not need references or an abstract for this assignment.
THEN….write an Action Plan for the area that had the lowest score (if there is a tie – pick one). An Action Plan is a way to change your behaviour for one week. Choose ONE behaviour that is measurable and specific. For example, if your lowest score was in Environmental Health, your action plan could be to use a re-useable water bottle for the week instead of disposable ones. OR, if your lowest score was social health, you could turn off your cell phone for 3 hours a day to focus on school work and family. The behaviour you choose to change must be a behaviour that is new to you. You will not lose marks if you do not succeed with your plan, but you will lose marks if it is not measurable or specific, or if sections of the action plan are not filled out. Remember that you need a week to complete an action plan so get on this assessment right away! Remember – only choose ONE BEHAVIOUR to change!
Upload both the paper and the action plan sheets to the PHA assignment section under ASSESSMENTS on the due date.
