African Americans were treated badly during the demand for slaves. Historically, African ancestors who immigrated to the United States were the ones who helped build the America we know today, and were later called African Americans. These people worked as slaves in rich white people lands, such as cotton farms. Today, this would be considered as nonhuman like conditions as to that slavery is illegal.
