The C.J. process involves eleven main steps to ensure all parties get fair treatment and justice. The process is usually more comprehensive but narrow at the bottom. Many cases are involved at the beginning of the process, which is removed from the process until the final judgment is made. The first step involves a police investigation of the crime. The purpose of this step is to gather enough information about the suspect and support an arrest (Huq, 2018). A police investigation may require a search of the suspect’s property. However, there must be probable cause for an individual to be searched. The police must provide an affidavit to the judge to be granted a search warrant before the search. However, the police cannot investigate if the suspect is not present at the crime scene as the suspect can challenge the warrant validity.
