Answer preview

The behaviors acquired by the members of a community are maintained by spreading from one generation to the other. The adults can maintain the practice by passing to future generations. Evidence has confirmed that a behavior that has been dominated by a community will be kept for long. The study by Chapman, and Fedigan, (1990) on the dietary patterns for different groups of Cebus Capucinus confirms that despite the similarity in abundance of a particular food the time spent by various communities of the same species differed. Once a behavior is acquired in a population it is maintained within that specific population such as for the Cota Rica used as one of the study populations.
