Case Study
Ahmad and his friend, A.G. Pennypacker, have come up with a great idea: they have developed a fluor elastomer liner (a rubber lining) for oil tankers. With this
innovation, they believe they can eliminate most oil spills that result from tanker
accidents. The liner is highly resistant to fluctuations in temperature as well as
physical punctures.
Ahmad wants to set up a company, but is unsure of his options and has come to you
for advice for the type of business entity formation he should select. He has the
following concerns:
1. He does not want his other business concerns being held liable should there be
a lawsuit arising from use/sale of this product.
2. He wants an entity form that will minimize his tax liability.
Based on the entity forms detailed in Chapter 35, select one you feel satisfies his
concerns. Make sure to explain why it is the best for Ahmad and Pennypacker.

You are a new general manager for a large organization. With the current environment of being in a pandemic, working from home is now the new norm. Many traditional “old school” managers are now being forced into remote working, and many are having difficulty in dealing with the inability to see their team members in person. You are a recent graduate from an all online higher education college, where being online to do course work and interact with the professor is “normal.” You decide to take some of that experience and also conduct some research to create an organizational change manual for all managers and employees dealing with working remotely.
Instructions
Using Microsoft Word, create an organizational development manual that includes the following:
Describe how organizations can use research and development to foster innovation.
Describe some innovative approaches of research and development (R&D) to organizational change, specifically to the remote worker.
Describe how can we overcome the “old school” mentality of remote work and what are some development tools that can help employees/managers with the transition.
Review the impact of working remotely with regards to managing resources of the company. Include the economic impact of remote work on the company.
Describe some of the ways remote working can impact the sustainability of the organization.
Conduct a health history on a family member or friend.
Conduct a health history on a family member or friend. You can use the form located in your Health Assessment lab manual book or from Week Two classroom assignment. You do not need to submit the health history form with your paper. Be sure they give you permission. Using the interviewing techniques learned in Module 2, gather the following information. Use your textbook as your guide.

W3: Fallacies to Persuade and Possibly Manipulate
Goal: Observe how logical fallacies are used to persuade and at times, manipulate.
Course Objectives: CO2
Description:
Advertisements exist to sell you a product. It might be soap, music, political positions, or ideas. Most advertisements use a variety of logical fallacies to persuade but some use them to subtlety or overtly manipulate the intended audience.
Find an ad. You don’t have to repeat the entire ad, only enough to familiarize us with it…
(1) name the fallacy it commits
(2) define the fallacy and
(3) explain in detail how this ad is an example of this fallacy.
Perform the given exercise to understand it better.
Example:
The appeal to ignorance is a fallacy based on the assumption that a statement must be true if it cannot be proven false — or false if it cannot be proven true.
An ad claims that “Nobody has ever proved to me that Shrest Whitening Strips are harmful” which erroneously implies that you know they aren’t.
– Review the list of logical fallacies in your content and study the ads presented.
– Select at least two (2) ads that you feel represent two (2) different logical fallacies.
– Determine how the language and images of the ads appeal to the consumer; identify the kinds of fallacies being used; and describe what needs or insecurities the ads are trying to reach.
