BEHS 220 Week 4 Discussion

BEHS 220 Week 4 Discussion

The resources this week ask you to consider the concept of gender in the US and how gender categories are constructed. They also introduce you to gender constructions outside of our binary (man/woman; male/female) gender system. Please use and cite at least 2 of the required resources as you respond to the following questions:

  • What is the difference between biological sex and gender?
  • What are some of the “single stories” (Aidichie, 2009) that people in the US have about men and women? In other words, what are the stereotypical gender roles in the US?
  • How did you learn how to be the gender that you are? Provide at least 3 examples.
  • How do people in the US treat people who don’t “fit in” to gender roles? How might this relate to the treatment of transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, and other individuals?

Your initial post should be at least 300 words in length, excluding the discussion prompt and the references. Please use in-text APA citations within your post as well as full APA references at the end of your post.

Using Common Firewall Options Options Menu: Forum

Firewall options for the individual or for those running a small office range from native OS firewalls to special-purpose devices. Most individuals and small office/home office (SOHO) users are concerned about security but don’t want to spend more than really necessary. Obtaining a reasonable level of security for most home or small office environments is actually quite easy and cost effective. First, an understanding of the common threats facing such an environment suggests that firewall options can be simple and inexpensive. While the Internet is not a safe place, interacting with Internet resources is not an automatic recipe for damage and destruction. Common sense and use of basic security tools greatly reduces the likelihood that a significant compromise from the Internet will take place.

Average home users and workers at a large corporation can both benefit from which of the following and WHY:

Option 1: Open-source hardware firewall

Option 2: Gateway server firewall

Option 3: Commercial appliance firewall

Option 4: Host firewall

Option 5: Proprietary device firewall
