Determining Needs and Readiness

Selecting a Target Audience

Select and introduce a target audience in an educational setting to survey and determine (1) professional learning needs and (2) readiness for participation in a collaborative professional learning community. Identify the type of educational organization, the number of staff members surveyed, and their roles in the organization. NOTE: The target audience for your needs assessment may be an entire staff, department, or small group of coworkers. Summarize your purpose for administering the survey.

National State Learning Standards

$14.00

A large part of a teacher’s responsibility is lesson plan development. The practice of being prepared with well thought out lessons can support learners in meeting learning outcomes.

For this assignment, use the grade level PRE-K. Develop a lesson plan using the “COE Lesson Plan Template” that prepares students for learning and is meaningful and appropriate. Consider your field experiences as you develop your lesson plan. I used Standard LDC 12e, which are standards for the state of South Carolina. LDC 12e: Demonstrate an interest in learning the alphabet.

The lesson plan must focus on a minimum of one standard LDC 12e within any selected content area. Include differentiated instruction for above average and below average students, and the use of assistive technology for the instruction and assessments. Additionally, include an engaging homework practice activity to continue learning at home that involves the children’s families. Ensure the pre-assessment data was ethically utilized to determine appropriate content area, standards, and differentiated needs for instruction provided.

Disabilities Education Act

$17.00

When submitting your original contribution, you should also include a summary of the project. Describe the logistics of the plan (when, where, how, for whom it was designed, etc.) Also describe why you chose this particular project and how it is connected to your ACE coursework.

The original contribution, an open-ended project, demonstrates your ability to create a unique product to support your field of study. No pre-approval is required.

Your planning should be original for you. Though it may contain 25% of a previously completed course assignment, the product should exhibit significant expansion of the initial idea.

Examples:

Conduct a professional development training session for your school/city/professional organization (documented with agenda/PowerPoint/evaluations as all three are required).
Create a professional multimedia presentation and share your work through an online platform or comparable form of communication/media.

Create your own blog or webpage to post your contribution (your name must be posted as the author).
